ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Hlk’ayk’ii: To Start a Fire was created through the friendship and commitment of the Swiilawiid Sustainability Society and Saahlinda Naay the Haida Gwaii Museum. The goal of the program is to support Haida Gwaii’s movement towards food, clean water and energy independence through language, arts and culture programming. TIMELINE & REMUNERATION
The Hlk’yak’ii Program Coordinator is a 7-month term position (with the possibility of extension) that will begin in early October. The coordinator will work 35 hours per week, wage to commensurate with experience.
Local residents of all heritage/backgrounds, genders and physical abilities are encouraged to apply for the position. Preference will be given to qualified candidates of Haida ancestry.
