BENEDICTE HANSEN is an artist with deep passion dating back
to her formative years. Today her work reflects an empathy for people’s struggles and her knowledge of ancient ritual practices. As the world faced the impact of Covid-19, she began thinking about the universal experience of grief and its stages in life. Also, deeply moved by the plight of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & Two-Spirit she set out on a path that inspired this body of work which offers catharsis, hope, and visualizes the journey from grief into new life.
DAVID ARCHER is a composer, pianist, producer and writer working in Daajing Giids. His music is influenced by our human responses to the climate crisis, science fiction and the natural surroundings of these shining Islands. His composition, We have all the time on earth, merges piano with the sounds of nature which he collects when walking about Haida Gwaii. David’s artistry reflects his profound connection to the natural world and passion for music and sound.
The Haida Gwaii Museum is grateful for the financial support of BC Arts Council, North Coast Regional District, New Relationship Trust and Vancouver Foundation
