This jihlk’yah (headdress) was inspired by an ancestral work, and features one of the Laana Tsaadas’ principal crests, the K’aaxada (Shark). The headdress was brought to life/validated at the Laana Tsaadas wedding feast on June 25, 2022, when Jesse donned it to perform a Peace dance with his new brother-in-law, Kwakwaka’wakw chief Kwamxalagalis Andy Everson, to honour attending Chiefs. This headdress is part of a dowry paid from Jesse to Kwakwaka’wakw chief Kwamxalagalis Andy Everson as part his marriage to Kalga Jaad Erin Brillon.

‘WaasGo is a Supernatural Being that is part wolf, part whale. This bracelet represents the story of three Haida commercial fishermen, Jesse Brillon and the Martynuik brothers, who were shipwrecked on Banks Island (off the coast of Prince Rupert) for eight days, surviving off seaweed and clams until rescued.
